Since bursting onto the scene in 2018, Hatton Labs – founded by friends and business partners Jack Cannon and Joe Gelb – has made waves in the fashion and jewellery scenes. With instantly recognisable features, such as the use of pearls, sterling silver and 3D printing, the brand’s unisex pieces are loved by the likes of Bella Hadid, Miley Cyrus, Iris Law and Bad Bunny.

“It’s a contemporary take on the classics,” says Cannon – who grew up selling watches with his dad in Hatton Garden – of the brand’s aesthetic. “We want to be the place where young people go to get their first real bit of jewellery.” Placing importance on accessible price points (sterling silver pieces start from £75), as well as homing in on a vibe that’s modern and inventive, Hatton Labs has carved out a niche in jewellery that feels new and utterly cool. Plus, the brand practices eco-conscious methods – using recycled materials and biodegradable plastics to help lower carbon emissions. “The beauty of today’s world is that we can express ourselves through what we wear without living in fear – I’m super proud to be at the forefront of this change with pieces that everybody can enjoy.”

Hatton Labs has also previously collaborated with fashion brands such as AGR, Botter and Playboy – it’s just getting started. Cannon is keen to continue working with creatives to push the boundaries of jewellery in fashion. “When working with others, we like to bring together our brand DNAs and find a new way to express ourselves, without taking away key characteristics from either side,” explains the designer. What’s the dream partnership? “A Hatton Labs X Vivienne Westwood collection, because it’s a brand I grew up loving and feels right with my own history of growing up in London.”The autumn/winter 2022 collection, entitled La Croisette, is inspired by the third largest jewel heist of all time, which took place at the The Carlton Hotel in Cannes in 2013. The pieces reference the cuts and colours of the 72 stones that were stolen – with the standout being a jaw-dropping necklace and bracelet set that features pale lilac cubic zirconia stones in a mixture of shapes placed on top of sterling silver chains. “We tend to always tread a fine line between what might be considered costume with haute jewellery sensibilities,” explains Cannon. “And this collection stays true to our signatures, but brings in a storytelling element, such as with the hotel janitor’s master key ring with a hanging 55-carat replica diamond.”

So, what are his goals for Hatton Labs in the next 10 years? “I want us to be not only synonymous with quality, but also where the next generation can afford to buy jewellery, as well as being the gateway for people to feel confident wearing louder, more experimental pieces.”Read more at:gold ball gowns | pink prom dress uk
